                | Located at No 89, Ba Huyen Thanh Quan Street,
D.3, the Xa Loi Pagoda is built in 1956 thanks to the contribution
of people around 21 southern provinces. The Vietnamese Society
of Buddhism organized to construct the pagoda with the purpose
to worship the remains of Buddha. The monastic community and
buddhists get accustomed to call it as Xa Loi Pagoda, therefore
the pagoda is inaugurated as Xa Loi Pagoda, a familiar name
to everybody. The sanctuary at the first floor is decorated

                       Pertaining
to Phu My Hung commune, Cu Chi District, Cu Chi Tunnel
is a famous historical vestige of the city, located at
17 km from the center of HCMC to the North-West.
It is a unique architectural work, a system of deeply
underground tunnels, in which many storey, many ramifications
interlace, where people can lodge and eat, organize meetings,
conduct activities, and do fighting. This secret system
of underground tunnels is unearthed since the time of
Resistance War against the French Colonialism (1948),
having then only 17 km. After 1960, the system continued
to be reinforced, developed further to reach 250 km, with
3 storey, of which the deepest is 8 - 10m underground.
Cu Chi is called the native land of “tunnel war”, titled
to be “steely ground, coppery rampart”.

At the present, this historical vestige is becoming an
attractive tourist area, where thousands of domestic and
foreign guests visit everyday. In particular, many leaders
of the Party and heads of states of Viet Nam and other
countries pay visit here and write down commemorative
impressions. The government recognized Cu Chi Tunnel as
                        a national historical-cultural vestige.

“Forever we memorize” of Vien Phuong writer.

At the central chamber, the sanctuary is decorated solemnly,
with the statue of Ho Chi Minh President in the very middle
and the names of heroic martyrs at three surrounding sides,
carved by gilded letters in granite stone steles. The floor
below the Temple is the place to present images, objects,
models, sand tables … in order to highlight the theme “Cu
Chi, steely ground, coppery rampart”. The December 19th
